Exploring the mind through art

Hi, my name is Thea. I create at the intersection of memory, illness, and perception.

When I was 11, I was diagnosed with autoimmune encephalitis- a moment that reshaped not only my health, but the way I understand consciousness, identity, and the fragile architecture of the mind. Since then, writing, art, neuroscience and trauma psychology have become more than academic interests; they are the language I use to make sense of survival, change, and what it means to remain whole after rupture.

My work spans psychological landscapes as well as quiet studies in realism- portraits, animals, and moments of ordinary beauty- reflecting both the deeply personal and the simply observed. Growing up across countries and cultures continues to shape this search for belonging and continuity across place and memory,

Through Neurological Cartographies and by Book in progress, Orbits of the Self, I explore how trauma shapes perception and how creative expression can transform experience into meaning. Fifty-percent of proceeds from my work are donated to the American Psychological Association in support of mental health research, education, and advocacy.

I create to follow what remains, and to listen for the light that finds its way back.
